The quotations in The Burnout Booklet are based on data collected for the Reading Bodies research project. This data includes materials and questionnaires submitted by project participants in preparation for a creative anthology on Reading Bodies: Burnout, Overload and Resilience, edited by Sally Flint and Katharine Murphy. The anthology was published by the University of Exeter in collaboration with Riptide Journal (December 2024). The examples in The Burnout Booklet were compiled by Dr Olivia Glaze; the illustrations were produced by local artist Hannah Mumby.
